I live in the outskirts of BA and offer worry-free half-day or full-day guided visits in English to the best hot spots in and around Buenos Aires, and notably to the exciting area in the south of Entre Rios, hosting many specialties and endangered
birds. I am active on the board of Aves Argentinas (the Birdlife partner for Argentina), and I have a website (www.fotosaves.com.ar) with over 1,400 of my bird photos, neatly arranged by family - a useful asset when preparing for your trip.
Furnarids, the often hard-to-identify LBJs of South America, are my favorite family among birds. I am proficient with bird
calls and, being an Electrical Engineer, I have put together MP3-based equipment with specially-designed electronics, affording fast birdcall playback so we don't miss a single bird in the bush.
A reliable & comfortable, intense & productive fun day to discover the birds of my area is what I offer.

Buenos Aires is a prime location for birding and I enjoy showing the rich birdlife –and nature- of this, my area, where I was born in 1961. When I was 12, WH Hudson´s delightful “Far Away and Long Ago” fell into my hands.. The birds, the nature and the people in those pristine pampas were depicted so vividly that I was forever hooked. Time passed, and in 1984, at the time I got my university degree in Biology, I was called to guide my first group of birders.
On duty or on my own, I birded all around Argentina but naturally I am more acquainted with the secrets my home patch, Buenos Aires, has to reveal. The pampas have a very good number of interesting species and the open country favours not only finding the birds, but also good sightings of them.
Today, when I show the birds, I still have the same fun as I had when I guided that first group, 25 years ago, and I love to share that joy. My Sites Menu includes 5 urban or suburban reserves, good for outings of 4 hours or more. For a full day roundtrip, the bucholic Southern Entre Ríos combines perfectly with Otamendi National Reserve, and reaching Punta Rasa, well known for its migrants, demands 3 days.
Visit my web site
I charge US$ 90 for the 4 hours walk and add U$S 12 per extra hour. The full day rate
is $ 150, the second passenger adds U$S 30 and the third passenger U$ 20. I have and ample, 3-rows of seats Renault car ready for use (ask).
Allow us to invite you to the pleasure of going out. Trips and outings can even be arranged at short notice. Birds, nature and the flavour of the pampas are waiting out there. Let´s go birding!

Argentina is a large country with many climate conditions and habitats. Currently its bird list exceeds 1050 species with 390
of them thriving in Central Region, where I lived. I think Cordoba is the best place to begin birding in Argentina, because is home to many endemic and endangered birds and each year. In summer, many migrant birds from the Northern Hemisphere and
north South America can been seen, and in winter birds migrate from Patagonia. It is really, a big bird crossroad, and
remember, we have Condors in the center of the country, all year.
I work as wildlife photographer, researching about our flora and fauna. Maybe I can help you planning your next birding trip. I’m available anytime and surely, we will enjoy looking for birds.

Daniel Somay
Daniel Somay, graduated as a Park Ranger, has always had an inclination for bird and fauna research, participating for the
largest project of birds banding of this particular area between 1981 and 1985.
In the following years, he has been entirely dedicated to touristical activities, working as a guide who is specialized in nature.
He has been making trips through out the jungle for more than 15 years, being one of the most experienced guides in this
region. Because of his knowledge, he has participated and advised on the makings of many documentaries produced by Japan, France, England and United States.
In 1995 he opened his own travel agency called “Rainforest Expeditions”, which is specialized in attending small groups of people interested in nature and also birwatching, being the most experienced specialized agency that offers these kinds of tours.
The National Park, besides having the spectacular waterfalls, is the environment with the most biodiversity in Argentina making
this place ideal to watch birds.
Daniel has recorded more than 380 different species of birds of the region, being many of them unique and even indispensable to
recognize some species of Antshrikes or to identify Flycatchers that are very similar among each other. For this method, we use
“Play Back”, in a responsible way, to not produce a stressful situation to the birds.
Among the birds of the region, we can mention the Black Fronted Piping Guan, Helmeted Woodpecker and Solitary Tinamou, not always easy to observe. More common are the Red breasted Toucan, Black throated Trogon, Blue Manakin, Tufted Antshrikes, Rufous Motmot, Robust Woodpecker and the difficult tyrants such as the Southern Antpipit, Yellow olive and Sepia capped Flycatchers, not forgetting the fantastic Tanagers, among others.
The company counts on 4 by 4 vehicles specially adapted for birdwatching.

Fees: Four hour trip including transportation and a box-lunch costs US$80 per passenger. Excursions can be booked for not less than two passengers and no more than eight.

The Huaico Reserve (huaico: comes from the Quechua language, wayqu: “gully or ravine”) protects a hundred heactares patch of Cloudforest on the west side of the Lerma Valley in San Lorenzo prvince of Salta. Nice views of the Andes Cordillera range from several lookouts along the twenty kilometers system of well maintained trails. The Huaico Reserve is administrated by YUCHAN Fund, a non-profit, non-governmental organization focused on conservation and management of protected areas in Yungas, Chaco
and Andes of Argentina. We offer a variety of activities which consist in Hikings, Ecological walks and guided Birdwatching excursions. With more than 200 bird species recorded in the Reserve including some of high conservation value, such as Huaico Tinamou, Yungas Pygmy-Owl, Alder Amazon, Ocellated Piculet and Hoy´s Screech-Owl, as well as other emblematic birds like the attractive Cream-backed Woodpecker and the powerful Black-and-Chestnut Eagle. This makes it a great option for a half or a full day birdwatching visit guided by Ricardo Clark. From here you can also arrange for other birding tours such as to El Rey and
Los Cardones National Parks.
Fees including transfers from/to hotel: half day guided Birdwatching visit U$70, full day U$140 (with picnic lunch inside the reserve).

We specialize in making every birding experience an adventure in its own way. For some this may mean camping at 7000' and
waking up to Buff-breasted Flycatchers calling over your tent, or backpacking into a remote canyon known to harbor
Rufous-capped Warblers. For others, this may be a driving tour of traditional hotspots where exciting rarities like Rose-throated Becards and Flame-colored Tanagers await. For still others this may mean waiting quietly in one spot, seeking intimate and educational encounters with resident species like Painted Redstarts or Arizona Woodpeckers. No matter what your idea of a "birding adventure" is, we can make it happen!

Wayne Burke
Burke is a Barbados-born birder who has been at it since about 1970. He has exercised this pursuit across North America,
Central America, South America and, of course, the Caribbean. He was resident in Kingston, Ontario from the late 80s until returning to Barbados in 2000. A year's sojourn in St.Lucia in 1992 (with trips to other islands) enabled him to find all (except the elusive Semper's Warbler) the endemics of the Lesser Antilles.
His contributions to Antillean ornithology have been acknowledged by Collar et al (1992) Threatened Birds of the Americas, Robbins and Parker 111 (1997) in Ornithological Monographs 48 (601-607), Keith (1997) The Birds of St.Lucia, West Indies, Raffaele et al (1998) A Guide to the Birds of the West Indies and published in El Pitirre (Journal of the Society of
Caribbean Ornithology). He recently drafted the Barbados account for the Birdlife International Important Bird Areas project.
Burke's academic training in Geography (MA)complements his interest in nature, culture and landscape. At the present he is an independent contractor for Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary, Barbados.
Much birding in Barbados is on private property, so it is best to be with a local.
My fee is US 150 per day, from 1 to max 3 persons in my vehicle (US$1 per 4 km will be added to the basic fee), lunch not included. More people and vehicle rental would be negotiated as would trips to other islands.
Cruise ships: Yes, I can cater to their requirements.

I am 32 years old and I have being birding since 1989 when I worked for Programme for Belize. Here I was under the direct
supervision of Elizabeth Mallory from the Manomet Bird Observatory in Massachusetts. We used to do recording of bird calls and mistnetting and banding.
From 1991 to 1996, I studied in Durango, Mexico and graduated from El Instituto Tecnologico Forestal No. 1, where I obtained a Diploma in Forestry Engineering; mainly in Production Systems. I was also an assistant to Darrell Novelo, a fellow student undertaking thesis work; he did work related to bird and bird populations in three different stands of pine and monitored the effect that different silvicultural methods had on the bird population in these stands. I worked for a couple of years in
Mexico as an English teacher at different universities and language centers; during this time I never put down my binoculars
and in this way learnt a good deal about the birds of northwestern Mexico, along the Sierra Madre Occidental. It goes without saying that I speak both Spanish and English and a little Mopan Maya as I am of Mayan descent.
In February of 2000, I returned to my beloved country Belize where I sought to and obtained a valid tour guide license; since then I have being carrying out guided tours to Mayan sites and also doing regular bird walks.
Fees: Range from $150 - $250 USD per person. depending on the area to be visited.

I am a native Belizean, born and raised in the Cayo district. I come from a family of naturalists with a long tradition of respect and love for all nature. I developed my passion for birding as a young teenager on my daily 4 mile walk home from high school. I have been birding ever since. I decided to turn my passion into what I do every day and began Birding in Belize with Paradise Expeditions, a small tour company that specializes in birding tours. Belize is a fantastic place to bird. Our small country has a wide range of habitats and vegetation that make an attractive home for over 500 species of birds, many rare and endangered.
We offer tour packages, create custom tour packages, do guided birding throughout the entire country (including accomodations),
and also do daily tours from the San Ignacio area.

I have been a tour guide for 10 years with one of the Bhutan’s leading tour companies. To showcase Bhutan’s stunning biodiversity and to bridge the gape in our tourism product and the interests shown by the clients over the years of my guiding career, Nature Tourism-Bhutan was born.
Nature Tourism-Bhutan runs full board bird watching, botany trips to the alpine & sub-tropical regions of the Himalayas that
are repositories of unique biodiversity. Our trips are of relative comfort and learning experience on the some of the plant and bird species found no where else in the world and that are in great threat of extinction in our neighboring regions because of depilation of habitat.

Fees: We currently run two Botany trips a year, a trek and a tour and four birding trips. US$ 180 per person per night. The price is quoted based on three or more people. Sharing of double room – single occupancy will incur an extra charge. It will include accommodation, full board (breakfasts, lunches – usually picnics, & dinners), transport within Bhutan by Toyota

I worked with the country's only environmental NGO, Royal Society for the Protection of Nature (RSPN) and am currently a board
member of RSPN. While at RSPN, I was involved with the first banding project of the black-necked cranes to study their
migration route. I worked very closely with the International Crane Foundation and was also instrumental in starting the
White-bellied Heron project in Bhutan. We do not depend on foreign guides, and feel very competent in leading our bird tours as we know where the birds are. In addition to myself I have a group of very competent guides, who are perhaps more knowledgeable. In addition to guiding I am passionate about soccer and am the President of a local soccer club, Druk Star FC.

My name is Lúcio Gueller, I am a 32 year old Brazilian economist, but for the last years I have been working with tourism. Everybody that knows me, says that I fit perfectly into this position, because I do it with lots of love, energy, and I really do what I like... showing the best of São Paulo and Brazil.. I like to tell about our habitats, our animals, the first native Indians and everything that is related to our origin..
I receive small groups, usually from 1 to 4 persons at São Paulo city and show them around with my own car. For the bird lovers there is a big park called "Serra da Cantareira" (30 min from downtown) with many different birds, waterfalls, monkeys and you feel that you are inside the Amazon Rain Forest. I have some books of birds I can show to the bird lovers..
I know the city of São Paulo very well, the beaches (the closest is 1 hour and 10 minutes away from the city and it is called Guarujá) and a very nice city 2 hours and 25 minutes called Campos de Jordão. The nature and the mountains are similars to the landscape of Switzerland, and in this city there are many protected parks.
If you email me in advance, I will help making reservations in good and inexpensive hotels in São Paulo. Also if you need full-
packages for Foz do Iguaçu (Iguaçu Water Falls - the biggest water falls in the world), Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Pantanal
(lots of birds and alligators), Amazon Rain Forest, Northeast Beaches, Ouro Preto, Manaus, Belém, Florianópolis, Gramado and Canela, let me know and I will make all the arrangements for you as a friend (without charging).
If you want me to travel and guide you in Rio de Janeiro, I can meet you there and I know the nature parks and the city very well.
I speak Portuguese, English and Spanish. But if you don't speak neither, it is easy to get persons to help us that speaks Hebrew, Romanian, Italian, French, German or Chinese. You just have to tell me in advance.
Fees: US$ 120.00 per person per day, including transfer from (and back) the airport to the city (takes around one hour), ground transportation in the city of São Paulo, entrance in one nice museum of the city and all my personal assistance. Also I give a small dictionary with some useful words in Portuguese and some extra material of the city. Doesn't include meals and accommodations(hotels), but I can book it to you easily. Discount is availed (and in deed will be given)for more than 2 participants.

In the tour business since 1974, I worked in several companies and different occupations. After moving to Cuiabá, tha capital
of the State of Mato Grosso, in 1984, I started to organize tours to the Pantanal, by then virtually unknown. Since then many birdwatching tours were carried on. Now back to São Paulo State, in the town of Campinas, I am also covering other very nice areas. The Atlantic rain forest, the altitude fields of Itatiaia, the mountains of Minas Gerais State and the Amazon are some
of them, where tours are available.
Looking more for good birding locations then luxury ones, but having basic services provided. My stile is to be more in the backstage, meaning that I do my best to organize custom tours aiming to match accommodations and itineraries to suit clients objectives. The birds are the “stars”, not the guide. I provide the basic books for South America and updated birdwatcher lists for places visited. Whenever possible I like to discuss details via e-mail with considerable anticipation. If convenient I can send you some examples of itineraries, with photos showing some places visited. Also names of some people that already traveled with me.
Fees: Prices range usually from US$ 120.00 to US$ 150.00 per person per day, including ground transportation, housing, meals
and my personal assistance, in a group of four.

Steve Sosensky
Welcome to the joys of birding in Southern California. Each of our coastal counties has checklists of more than 400 species.
Our inland counties get great desert and Mexican species difficult to find elsewhere. The ABA/Lane Birdfinding Guide A Birder's Guide to Southern California by Brad Schram lists more than 200 specialties, of which 182 are visible either on or from land. This book is highly recommended as a first resource for planning your birding in SoCal, especially planning your target species list.
If you're basing your birding trip out of the Los Angeles/Orange County area, SoCA Birding Guides can help you get your target birds. Guides Jim Abernathy and Steve Sosensky have been leading groups weekly for several years. We have each recorded more than 400 species in one year in California many times. This sort of success takes knowing where, when, and how to find the more difficult species in the area.
Whether your target birds are in the mountains, at the sea shore, in the desert, or anywhere in between, we can take you to the
optimum locations. You can use your own vehicle or hire our SUVs (required for some San Bernardino Mountains species), and
we'll pick you up and drop you off at your hotel. For large groups, we can also arrange for van rental at the going rate.
Whatever species are on your hit list, SoCA Birding Guides can personalize a day or more to fit your needs, depending, of course, on the seasonality of the birds.

Rodrigo Reyes is a Landscape Architect by profession, but a Naturalist and Birdwatcher at heart. He is native from Viña del
Mar, one of Central Chile's most important cities, and is currently living there at the moment. His interests in birds began at the age of eleven in Sweden, where he was especially attracted to crows (Corvidae). Since his return to Chile, Rodrigo's interest began to move naturally from that magnificent representation of the European birds to the study of Chilean birds. Now he is a great connoisseur of the Chilean birds and in particular of the birds from Central Chile.
He has worked in several ornithological projects, and for his landscaping works, he tries to create harmonic designs with the environment, obtaining an interrelation between the vegetation and the birds, creating in some way, a fusion between nature and man.
He speaks fluid English, Swedish and Spanish.

Rodrigo Tapia was born in 1968 in Valparaiso, a 16th century port city in the middle of a beautiful bay overlooking the Pacific
Ocean in the coast of Central Chile. Since he was a child he showed a great interest in Wildlife, and living by the seaside provided him with a unique opportunity to get acquainted first-hand with Seabirds, Shorebirds and Waders.
Combining his daily walks to the seashore with weekend trips to the inland valleys, forests and the Andes mountains, he started watching and studying Birds before the age of ten, and has been doing so for more than 25 years. By the time he finished
school his growing passion for Birds eventually led him to study Biology and work as a field researcher.
He’s been involved in several Ornithological research projects and has carried on field observations in a number of aspects of Ornithology, among them Bird migration, seasonal distribution and abundance of Bird populations, and this research has lead him to almost every region and ecosystem in Chile, from the northern Atacama Desert to the chilled coasts of Antarctica, and from the heights of the Andes to the waters of the Pacific and Juan Fernández Archipelago. He offers many Birding trips in all these diverse environments, including Pelagic trips. His passion for Birds reflects also in his pictures, for he is also an enthusiastic Bird Photographer. Fabrice Schmitt
At the base of the Andes, and at only 1h30 from the coast, Santiago is a good place for few days birding !!
If you have only one day, bird the foothill near Santiago (the private Mahuida parc is a very nice place, close to the city) in order to look for some endemic species as the Dusky-tailed Canastero, Chilean Mockingbird, Chilean Tinamou and White-throated Tapaculo. You will also probably find few Plain-mantled Tit-spinetail, many Long-tailed Meadowlark and perhaps a Striped Woopecker. Then follow your day at higher elevation, in the direction of Farellones or El Yeso (this last place will give you the nice Diademed Sandpiper-plover, present between october and february). In the rocky slopes, search for the Crag Chilia and the Moustached Turca. The Andean Condor are fairly common and you have great chance to see few of this impressive bird. Spend the end of the afternoon in the Lampa and Batuco wetlands, where are breeding thousands of waterbirds. This area is probably
the best place in the world to find the rare Black-headed Duck. With more luck, you will also find the 'chilean' Warbling Doradito, a Painted Snipe or even a Black Rail!
With one more day, you will be able to visit the coast in order to find shorebirds, gulls, pelicans, etc...
An excellent place to bird is the Maipo estuary near San Antonio, especially in the evening with good light !
North to this place, visit the Cartagena lagoon where you will easily find few Spot-flanked Gallinules and have excellent views on many duck species. Following to the north, have a look on the El Peral lagoon, usually good for the Stripe-backed Bittern.
Of course, a pelagic trip from Valparaiso or Quintero will be the best for many birders. Every trip is different, and you can have excellent birds all year round. My record is 6 albatross species in one trip with more than 1000 ind. Other good birds during a pelagic trip include Peruvian Diving-petrel, Pink-footed Shearwater, White-chinned and Westland Petrel, Inca Tern, and sometimes some Pterodroma species (mainly Juan-Fernandez and Masatierra Petrel).
In two days birding around Santiago, you should be able to find 100 species, and 7 of the 11 chilean endemics.
You will need more time and to travel farther to reach 200 species, and 300 are possible during a 15 days trip from the north
to the south of the country. Don't hesitate to contact me if you need some informations, or if you want me to organise you a
day trip or a longer tour.

As well as being fantastically rich in natural resources, Qinling Mountains have a long human history. A short distance to the north-east of Qinling Mountains lies Xi`an, the capital city of the province of Shaanxi. Xi`an is one of the six ancient Chinese capitals and was the starting point of the world-famous "Silk Road". Most people in the world know that Xi`an is a

sound, (including the Galapagos Islands).
Among some of my most important contributions to the knowledge of the Ecuadorian birds are the co-discovery of the Jocotoco Antpitta together with Robert Ridgely, the rediscovery of the Striated Antbird for Ecuador, some range extension on the distribution of several birds and the discovery of several song and vocalizations unknown to science. You can find my name in the recently published book "A Field Guide to the Birds of Ecuador" as one of the Ornithologist who shared information with
the authors.
The last three years I have also been leading trips in Bolivia where I have also been able to master the identification of the birds by sight and sound.
In the near future I'll start to lead trips in Peru and Brazil.

Birding in the Ecuadorian coastal region. These are the most threatened ecosystems of the country, and the least visited. Although, they harbour the highest level of endemics. Visit the Tumbesian Eco-Region.
I've been involved in birding and its conservation for a few years, conducted and helped in investigations on birds, mainly inventories. The most important been a co-study in the Manglares Churute Ecological Reserve, over the population of the Horned
Screamer (Anhima cornuta), locally called "canclón", and the human impact on them.
Fees: US$ 60 per day for individual or groups up to 8 birders and I speak English and Spanish

Rudy Gelis
Rudy Gelis began his career in ornithology when he was awarded a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship in 1997. After studying nesting Andean Condors in Argentina and penguins on the Falkland Islands, he settled in Ecuador. Over the past decade, as an active member of the Yanayacu Natural History Group based in cloud forest of northeastern Ecuador, he has collaborated in numerous publications in refereed ornithology journals. In Ecuador he has studied the nests and breeding behavior of Long-wattled Umbrellabird, Red-winged Wood-Rail, Fiery-throated Fruiteater, five species of antpitta, Masked and Bluish Flowerpiercers, Barred Hawk, plus many dozens more. He has assisted in other ornithological works, including breeding bird surveys in the northeast U.S. and clay-lick use by parrots and macaws in the rainforest of southeastern Peru. Rudy instructs university-level natural history courses in Ecuador and frequently offers ecotourism courses and assists in professional workshops for guides and park guards in Latin America. Applying his strong background in botany and great interest in all of the natural world, Rudy leads birding and natural history tours throughout much of Ecuador and Peru. Feel free to explore with us this fascinating country and share your impressions, sightings or wild life reports with the birders, divers and travelers of our community.
Out aim is to offer you a personalized tour of Egypt, based on your request of itinerary. In the last 20 years, the tourist
boom has born an infinite number of tourist agencies, which offer their services for groups. As you know, these agencies are following a previously shaped and inflexible itinerary. This is exactly what we would like to avoid.
We organize individual requested itineraries, in comfortable, air-conditioned personal cars for 1 to 6 persons maximum.

Yilma Dellelegn Abebe
Yilma is a conservation biologist with avid interest in birds and bird watching. He has worked as Park Warden and conservation education officer for several years with Government before starting to work as a free-lance bird guide back in the 1980s. He works as a volunteer with an indigenous conservation NGO known as Ethiopian Wildlife and Natural History Society. Yilma acted
as a project officer when the Important Bird Areas directory for Ethiopia was first produced in 1996. This was the first IBA book produced for Africa. He has trained several individuals and groups on topics of birds and birdwatching and continues to work with school nature clubs. He is a well-travelled person in the country and knows the best birding places. At the moment he is producing a local language field guide of birds of Ethiopia in two main dialects of the country. He has written articles on endemic bird species including the Ethiopian Bushcrow and Ruspoli’s Turaco. He is also interested in wetlands, drylands and indigenous knowledge. Yilma encourages local communities to take up ecotourism because this may be the only viable way of conserving valuable bird habitat in the long-run. To this end, he is setting up a project to work with local communities where funds generated goes back to the poor communities that usually have to pay the costs of site conservation. Yilma will not only help you identify birds on your trips but will give you an all rounded information educational tour about conservation, environment and culture in his country.

I have been a serious birder since 1996, when I started my own tour operator, Aventuras Naturales, and since then I have been taking people around the whole country. Without knowing it, our company became the first Guatemalan operator to operate fully organized birdwatching trips. Since I don’t consider myself the best birder in the country, most of the times I work with
expert ornithologists, especially when we have avid birders and also when we do long trips (more than 1 week), in order to
fully satisfy the needs of our clientele. I actually started working in Tourism in 1988.
Since we started our operations, we have been committed to the development of birdwatching in Guatemala, not just for our company, but for the country itself, trying to create an image of Guatemala as a World Class birdwatching destination. Our latest achievement began in 2004, when Andreas Lehnhof (director of The Nature Conservancy in Guatemala) invited our company, two foundations for the conservation of natural resources, The Guatemalan Council for Protected Areas and the Guatemalan
Tourism Board to form a Birdwatching Round Table, in order to develop the image of the country for such a purpose. The Round Table is now a reality (you can check its website at http://www.birds-guatemala.org/en/). Another great experience for us was
to coordinate the Guatemalan version of the 1998 World Bird Festival, promoted by BirdLife International. There are other symposiums and non-tourism Birdwatching related events whose logistics we have been related to, as well.

Hawaiian Wildlife Tours
Thank you for your interest in Hawaiian Wildlife Tours, which was founded to promote environmental education and encourage
conservation in Hawaii. Dr. Carl J. Berg, Jr. (Ph.D. in Zoology, Univ. of Hawaii, 1971) provides custom tours of Hawaii’s
unique and beautiful ecosystems, focusing mainly on endemic species of plants, birds, reptiles and mammals. Personalized bird watching, nature photography, and family tours can be arranged to meet your special interests and abilities.
I lead personalized tours, just you, mainly on the north shore of Kauai with opportunities to see endemic Hawaiian wetland birds, oceanic birds nesting and roosting (including Laysan albatross at that time of year) and the many exotic urban birds
that have been introduced to Hawaii. I try to develop a tour package that meets the interests and hiking capabilities of my clients. I have a broad background in the natural history of the Hawaiian Islands and enjoy sharing my love for the islands. In addition to birding, I also take clients out to see rare and endangered Hawaiian monk seals, hoary bats, and green sea turtles. In season (February-April) we go whale watching from the shore.
Reservations should be made at least a month in advance. Because of the vagaries of the weather, I usually reserve a couple of days for each client so that we are not forced to go out in the pouring rain. Please get back to me if you would like any additional information (cberg@pixi.com) or 808 639-2968.
Biographical information: A naturalist and bird watcher all my life, I returned to Kauai after 19 years on the mainland. There
I was a university professor (City College of New York) and later a research scientist (Harvard University and Marine
Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole MA). I had received my Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Hawaii in 1971, specializing
in animal behavior and ecology. Back in Hawaii, I re-discovered the natural wonders of its forests and wildlife. I started Hawaiian Wildlife Tours in 1996 to share my appreciation for the culture, beauty and mystery of the Hawaiian Islands.

Honduras may be Central Americas best kept natural secret. A mid 1990’s estimate put Honduras at having the largest percentage of forest-covered land in all of Central America, more than even our famous neighbors Costa Rica and Belize. Due to Honduras geography these forest areas cover a wide range of eco systems. Over 30 cloud forest areas can be found in Honduras, more than in any other Central American country. Honduras is also home to many areas of tropical rainforest, pine forest, savannas, mangroves and coastal
lagoons. A lot of larger forested areas of Honduras have been made into National Parks or Protected Areas over the last 10 years.
Honduras is home to 725 bird species that cover 58 families, and we are still counting. The wide range of forested areas in Honduras offer something for the novice, experienced or the adventurer’s birder.
I am happy to assist you in traveling and birding in Honduras, I have many contacts in the birding and travel industry through years
